Voodoo Coffee

Voodoo Coffee’s playful design draws inspiration from vintage horror comics, blending nostalgia with humour. The illustrations satirise office culture and modern workers’ caffeine dependence by likening them to zombies with an insatiable craving for coffee. To balance the darker theme, the colour palette is bright and cheerful, while the slogans incorporate puns that subvert the horror visuals, injecting an element of humour into the branding. The tagline, “Strong enough to wake the dead,” captures the brand’s bold, tongue-in-cheek personality.

Promotion

The promotional poster pays homage to vintage horror comics and classic movie posters by incorporating iconic visual tropes, most notably an undead hand bursting dramatically from the ground. This imagery immediately evokes the thrilling and playful spirit of the genre, drawing a nostalgic connection for viewers. The design leverages the same vibrant colour palette as the rest of the branding, striking a balance between the macabre theme and the brand’s cheerful, tongue-in-cheek tone. The bold visuals not only capture attention but also reinforce Voodoo Coffee’s unique identity as a brand that embraces dark humour with a lively, modern twist.

I designed these mock-ups for social media posts to explore how the branding translates seamlessly into a digital setting. The visuals maintain the distinctive look and feel of the brand, utilising simple yet striking graphics paired with bold, vibrant colours that align with Voodoo Coffee’s playful identity. These mock-ups demonstrate how the brand’s personality comes alive across various digital platforms, ensuring consistency and engagement in social media and advertising campaigns. The designs are optimised for visual impact, capturing attention in fast-paced digital environments while staying true to the brand’s core themes of humour and energy.
